Upper Arkansas River (Between Leadville and Buena Vista) 6/4/23
Runoff remains slow and steady and the flows are stable in Hayden Meadows. There is a significant release of water from Twin Lakes right now so high water conditions exist south of the Lake Creek confluence. Water clarity has not been an issue in the Upper Valley and nymphing remains the most productive technique, as the dry fly action has not picked up yet. In the high water be selective where you fish by targeting pockets of slower water, deep seams and slower edges. Stonefly, caddis and midge patterns have had positive results.
